The Choice is Made

I was asked to draw something gloomy, and this scene came to my mind.

Zira and Nuka are having a talk, and Zira tells her son that the choice's already made and Nuka will never be Scar's heir. But deep inside she feels sorry for him, because Nuka reminds her of his father. I think she would better like to see Scar's native son as a King, but she understands that he is too weak and awkward for it.
Maybe his weakness explains also why he did't try to kill Kovu, though he had too many chances (e.g. when he was forced to babysit).

Honestly, I was trying to make Nuka ugly and ill-looking in this picture. But well, I don't really like his appearance which was shown in the movie, that's not how I would like him to look.
And sorry for that annoying photoshop grass: I was too tired to paint it myself.
