UPD: After watching the new episode "Paintings and predictions" I was pleasantly surprised that Nala's father was mentioned officially. I know his similarity with Kion worked for the plot, but... They look too much alike, which means Nala took nothing from her father, and she is almost a copy of Sarafina, like a... plant? So I really prefer my own version of Nala's dad
